Allergy skin testing will be provided at no cost and participants will have the benefit of receiving information regarding their allergic sensitivity to the allergens they are being tested with. The results of the skin test may be used to match participants with future allergy research studies, which may include compensation.
Skin testing is commonly used by physicians to evaluate allergic sensitivity. The skin testing procedure will give participants valuable information about how they react to several allergy extracts (allergy causing substances), including seasonal and perennial allergens. During this procedure, a sterile, disposable, plastic pick is used to make a tiny prick of the skin and place allergen on the forearms. The results of the skin test will be used to evaluate if participants would be eligible for future clinical research studies for allergies.
